Here's a GREAT Adolphe Sax alto saxophone.

Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone, should be well known to everyone here; his name was the first to grace the instruments that would eventually dominate the jazz world. This instrument is a fairly late one, manufactured after the Selmer company had purchased Sax's workshop but was still making instruments with the Sax name. They are terrific players with an unmistakable sound.

This instrument is in very good condition. Original silver plate is about 80% present with some wear. Pads and action have just been regulated in the shop and this instrument is ready to play.

Provenance: The Robert Howe collection. Dr. Robert Howe is a well known researcher and historian of woodwind instruments and spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer instruments from this collection for sale.
