Its large-bore design and broad, centered voice suit orchestral playing, concert band, solo literature, chamber work, and other settings where tonal weight and projection are important.

Common Questions About the Bach 42BOF

How does the 42BOF differ from the Bach 42B and 42BO?

The 42B uses a traditional-wrap F attachment with a standard rotor, while the 42BO uses an open wrap with a standard rotor. The 42BOF retains the open wrap and adds Bach's Open-Flow rotor, designed to provide a freer transition through the F attachment.

What does the .547-inch bore contribute to the instrument?

The .547-inch bore places the 42BOF in the large-bore tenor category. This format supports the broad tonal foundation and projection commonly sought for orchestral, wind ensemble, and advanced solo playing.

Where does the 42BOF fit within Bach's professional trombone lineup?

The 42BOF is a valve-system variation within the professional Stradivarius Model 42 family. It is particularly relevant to players who favor the traditional Bach 42 bell and slide concept but prefer an open wrap and Open Flow rotor.

We are proud to be an authorized Bach dealer

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/3461/files/Bach-42BOF-Stradivarius-Professional-BbF-Tenor-Trombone-in-Lacquer.jpg?v=1793183537
https://www.brassandwinds.com/products/bach-42bof-stradivarius-professional-bb-f-tenor-trombone-in-lacquer-sn-219774
