This helps address the sharp intonation tendencies of low-register valve combinations and provides a more practical chromatic range below the staff.

How does the JEP1120S fit within the Jupiter euphonium lineup?

Jupiter places the JEP1120S above its four-valve non-compensating intermediate models. It is a performance-level instrument intended for musicians who need a full compensating system, while the Jupiter XO 1270 occupies the company's dedicated professional series.

What is the benefit of the 3+1 valve layout?

The fourth valve is operated by the left hand, allowing the right hand to remain in a natural position over the three top-action pistons. This arrangement is widely used on compensating euphoniums and supports efficient fingering throughout the extended low register.

We are proud to be an authorized Jupiter dealer

https://www.brassandwinds.com/products/jupiter-jep1120s-bb-compensating-euphonium-in-silver-plate-sn-cc02782
