Kohlert Triebert Systeme Lucite English Horn EXTRAORDINARY
Here is an extraordinary Kohlert English horn with a Lucite or acrylic body.
I have never before seen an amazing instrument like this. This instrument dates to circa 1940, as can be determined by the bell inscription 'V. Kohlerts Sohne Graslitz Sudentengau'. This instrument may have been made for an AfrikaKorps band out of acrylic so it would not crack in the variable temperature and humidity. In any case, this is a rare and important piece. This instrument has been serviced in our shop and plays well as is.
Provenance: The Robert Howe collection. Dr. Robert Howe is a well known researcher and historian of woodwind instruments and spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer instruments from this collection for sale. This instrument comes from his collection.
