Stowasser Tarogato SN 19865 Wood Soprano Saxophone EXCELLENT
Here is a terrific Stowasser tarogato.
The national instrument of Hungary, the Tarogato is essentially a wooden saxophone with a fingering system that is like an Albert system clarinet. And when you think of tarogatos, the Stowasser is the finest ever made. While many tarogatos are just made for the tourist trade, these are real handcrafted instruments and are sought after by tarogato enthusiasts worldwide.
This particular instrument is in very good condition. I do see 3 minor cracks in the instrument - I don't think any of them have gone all the way through the bore, but I'm not certain. We have elected to not repair these cracks and leave them to the eventual buyer to deal with as they see fit. This instrument does play somewhat, but really needs to have a repad for optimal play.
