Yamaha Model YCL-450NM Intermediate Duet+ Bb Clarinet BRAND NEW
Featuring a bell shape and barrel design similar to that of
the V Series, the YCL-450NM offers a surprisingly 'professional' sound with an
easy response. The new bell design gives improved intonation and projection,
especially in the all-important lower register, while the new barrel enhances
the 450's response, flexibility and tonal focus.
Patented Duet+ technology provides the added benefit of durability to this
clarinet. The ABS resin injection-molded upper joint inner bore significantly
diminishes the likelihood of cracking. From the band room to the marching
field, the YCL-450NM intermediate clarinet provides the optimal combination of
durability and tone quality for student musicians.
Using patented technology, the injection-molded inner bore is designed to
resist cracking while also stabilizing the bore, which adds consistency and
durability. The upper joint body is drilled out slightly larger around the bore
and tone-holes. Thermoplastic ABS resin is injected into the cavity, instantly
forming the inner shape of a clarinet. It is designed to preserve as much as
90% of the wooden portion, while its natural appearance is hardly
distinguishable from conventional all-wooden models.
The YCL-450N intermediate model clarinet incorporates some of the distinct
qualities of Yamaha's professional and custom clarinets. One of these features
is a 65mm barrel design that produces a focused tone and quick response.
Players looking to "step-up" their performance will do just that with
this instrument.
Nothing can be more frustrating than a soft sounding, out of tune instrument. A
New resonance chamber in the bell of the YCL-450N aids in projection and
improves intonation in lower notes, allowing for consistency and confidence.
Intermediate instruments need to feel different than student model instruments.
Part of making the YCL-450N "feel" better is the upgrade in spring
material. Blue steel springs give the keys a lighter touch and feel while
producing a smooth, quick action.
This instrument is brand new and carries the full manufacturer's warranty.
The nickel-plated keys provide a more clear and focused tone. Also, the nickel-plated keys of the YCL-450N provide a good alternative for people who have an allergic reaction to silver-plating. In order to make the keys to the appropriate strength level, a technique called power forging is used. The results of this hi-tech process are keys that are exceptionally durable and contoured to the best possible ergonomic shape. Yamaha intermediate model instruments set themselves apart with their use of professional materials and features. Straight tone holes with tapered undercuts provide outstanding intonation and response making the YCL-450N play like a pro-model instrument. Yamaha's Band and Orchestral Division debuted the YCL-450NM Duet + intermediate Clarinet at the 2013 NAMM Show. This brand new addition to Yamaha's clarinet line is the first intermediate clarinet to feature Duet+ construction, which combines physical elements of wood and resin. Duet+ also represents the melding of old world craftsmanship and new world technological advancements. Less prone to cracking and yielding better sound production, the Duet+ model takes the guesswork out of selecting an instrument. The consistency and reliability offered by the YCL-450NM Duet+ Intermediate Clarinet make it an easy choice for music educators, school band and orchestra students and players living in areas with extreme climates. This intermediate clarinet includes a stabilizing ABS resin injection-molded upper joint inner bore, which drastically reduces the chance of cracking in the upper joint and allows for greater consistency in sound production. In addition, the Duet+ model includes an adjustable thumb rest and waterproof Valentino pads that provide increased resonance along with a more mature tone quality to the sound. While competitively priced, the Duet+ model offers the superior durability and quality that Yamaha is recognized for. The double ring of the Duet+ logo embossed on the clarinet graphically represents a cross-section view of the instrument's body. This logo also signifies two materials joining together "in harmony," much like two players coming together to play a duet.
