King Zephyr Special Alto Saxophone: Before and After
Just finished an overhaul of a gorgeous King Zephyr Special alto sax.
This one in particular features an incredibly rare silver/gold finish with full pearl touch pieces, and is in immaculate condition.
Work included cleaning, polishing of both the plating and the pearls, new pads/corks, very light dent work, post alignment, pad cup flattening, key straightening, spring balancing, and adjustment of all pads/keys. In addition, the right and left hand stack keys were loose, so new rod screws were made both in order to avoid marring the keys by swedging, and to guarantee durability over time. This thing is incredibly stable, plays effortlessly, and was a joy to work on.
