Who the EAS451 Performance Alto Saxophone Is For

The Eastman EAS451 Performance Alto Saxophone is an intermediate Eb alto saxophone designed for advancing student players who need consistent intonation, reliable keywork regulation, and comfortable ergonomics for daily practice and ensemble playing. Its pro-scale design approach helps support stable pitch and familiar feel as players transition toward higher-level repertoire and more demanding band, jazz, and solo settings.

What distinguishes the EAS451 in the intermediate category is its practical serviceability and fit features, including left- and right-hand section adjustment screws and an adjustable thumbrest, along with a complete included setup: Eastman Protégé mouthpiece, a Rovner Light ligature and cap, and a Légère Signature reed. For students moving beyond an entry-level saxophone, it provides a clear step up in control and consistency without requiring a full professional-model investment.
