Who the 1236RL-O Professional F-Attachment Trombone Is For

The Jupiter XO 1236RL-O is a professional Bb/F tenor trombone designed for players who need a large-bore symphonic-style instrument with an open-wrap trigger for extended low range. Its core sound leans dark and centered, and the response is designed to feel immediate without requiring excessive effort, particularly through the F-attachment register.

This model is a strong fit for advancing students, conservatory players, and working professionals who want a versatile large-bore trombone for orchestra, wind ensemble, chamber brass, and doubling situations. The interchangeable leadpipes make it easier to tailor articulation and resistance to your preferred mouthpiece and playing concept, while the open-wrap design supports a more open blow in the trigger range.

Common Questions About The Jupiter XO 1236RL-O

Is the Jupiter XO 1236RL-O a large-bore trombone?

Yes. It has a .547 inch primary bore with a .563 inch bore through the F-attachment, which is the standard large-bore format used for many symphonic and wind-ensemble tenor trombones.

What does open-wrap F-attachment mean for feel and response?

Open wrap refers to a more direct tubing layout for the F-attachment. In practical terms, it typically provides a more open-feeling airflow in the trigger register and helps keep response consistent when moving between Bb and F-attachment positions.
