Who the Mark VI Tenor Saxophone Is For

The Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone is a professional Bb tenor saxophone designed for players who want the classic Mark VI feel, response, and tonal flexibility associated with mid-20th-century Selmer Paris instruments.

It is well suited to serious jazz players, working professionals, and advanced students looking for a vintage tenor that supports a wide range of mouthpiece and reed setups. The Mark VI is often chosen for its blend of core, projection, and expressive control, and for the familiar ergonomics that many players use as a reference point when comparing professional tenors.

Common Questions About The Selmer Paris Mark VI

Is this Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone suitable for professional use?

Yes. The Mark VI is a professional model, and this instrument has been serviced, regulated, and play-tested to confirm dependable performance for rehearsals, recording, and gigging.

How much original lacquer is left, and what does that mean for buyers?

This saxophone retains approximately 95+% of its original lacquer. For many buyers, higher lacquer retention indicates less cosmetic wear and can be a positive factor for long-term ownership and collectability, while playability depends primarily on mechanical condition and setup.
