Yamaha Model YEP-642TSII 'Neo' Euphonium with Trigger System
Yamaha YEP-642TSII Euphonium Overview
The Yamaha YEP-642TSII Neo is a professional euphonium that adds a main tuning slide trigger system to the established YEP-642II platform, giving the player precise, on-the-fly pitch adjustment while maintaining the Neo series response and tonal profile. The trigger lever can be pressed during performance to lower pitch by a controlled amount, then released to return the main tuning slide to its original position; the system is also fully adjustable for lever position, angle, and stroke to match individual comfort and technique.

Who the YEP-642TSII Euphonium Is For
The Yamaha YEP-642TSII is a professional euphonium designed for players who want real-time intonation control from a main tuning slide trigger without changing their core approach to Neo-series playing feel. It is a strong fit for advanced students, conservatory musicians, military band players, brass band euphoniumists, and working professionals who need precise pitch adjustments during exposed passages, sustained chords, and ensemble situations where intonation must be corrected instantly.
What distinguishes the YEP-642TSII within the Neo lineup is the integrated main-slide trigger mechanism that has been tested for extreme durability and is engineered for smooth, controllable movement. The added trigger system mass is intended to support greater depth of tone and clarity of articulation, while the adjustable lever plate and pre-performance rod setting allow the player to tailor both tuning range and ergonomics.
Common Questions About The Yamaha YEP-642TSII
What does the main tuning slide trigger do on the YEP-642TSII?
Pressing the lever plate shifts the main tuning slide downward to lower pitch by a controlled amount; releasing it returns the slide to its original position. This lets you correct intonation in real time during performance without stopping to move slides by hand.
Can the trigger feel and range be adjusted?
Yes. The position, angle, and stroke of the lever plate can be adjusted for comfort and technique. For pre-performance tuning, you can loosen the rod base screw, position the main tuning slide as needed, then tighten the screw to set the trigger rod position.
What case and mouthpiece are included?
The YEP-642TSII includes a Yamaha EPC-63 case and a Yamaha L51 mouthpiece.
