Jupiter JBS1000 Baritone Saxophone
The Jupiter JBS1000 is a gold-lacquer Eb baritone saxophone with Low A and High F#, designed as a practical, full-featured bari for players who need reliable baritone performance without boutique pricing. It offers the depth and foundation expected from baritone sax, with a response that supports both ensemble blend and clear articulation. As Jupiter’s standard baritone saxophone, the JBS1000 focuses on straightforward playability, durable construction, and ergonomic keywork that suits regular rehearsal and gigging use. This instrument is a display piece that has never been privately owned.
In performance, the JBS1000 delivers the characteristic baritone low-end presence needed for concert band, jazz band, pit orchestra, and saxophone section work, while the Low A extension supports modern charts and contemporary ensemble writing. The High F# key adds flexibility for technical passages and altissimo-adjacent voicings commonly encountered in commercial and jazz repertoire. Ergonomic touches like the tilting G#-Bb table and adjustable palm keys help players move efficiently through low-register work and fast transitions, and the adjustable thumb rest supports comfort across longer sets. Blued steel springs provide a firm, consistent key return, and the plastic tone boosters (resonators) help maintain clarity and immediacy of response. It is an ideal choice for advancing students, school programs, doubling specialists, and budget-conscious professionals who need an occasional baritone that covers standard requirements with a dependable feel.
