Powell Sonaré PS-905 Professional Flute

The Powell Sonaré PS-905 is a professional open-hole C flute built around a sterling silver body and Powell Signature (.925) sterling silver headjoint, finished with elegant Aurumite 9K appointments at the lip plate, crown, and barrel. Designed for advancing conservatory students, university players, and working professionals, the 905 delivers a refined, flexible sound with quick response and a stable core. Its hand-finished, professional mechanism—completed at the Powell factory in Maynard, Massachusetts—brings the precision and reliability expected in demanding rehearsal and performance schedules. With pointed key arms, 10K white gold springs, and Straubinger Phoenix pads, the PS-905 supports clean articulation, consistent sealing, and confident control across registers.

Players choose the PS-905 for its balanced blend of projection and color, offering a clear center that remains adaptable for orchestral, chamber, and solo repertoire. The drawn tone hole sterling silver body contributes to an even scale and a direct, responsive feel, while the Powell Signature headjoint adds nuance in dynamics and vibrato-driven shaping. The silver-plated mechanism is engineered for smooth action and durability, helping reduce effort in fast technical passages and extended sessions. The B footjoint extends the low range and enhances resonance in the bottom register—ideal for orchestral excerpts and contemporary writing. Well-suited for serious students preparing auditions, doublers needing a dependable professional flute, and principal players seeking a versatile instrument for pit, chamber, and concert work.
