Selmer STS711 Tenor Saxophone Overview
The Selmer STS711 is a professional tenor saxophone developed as a next-generation collaboration between Henri Selmer Paris and Selmer USA for advancing players who need true professional design elements. It pairs post-to-rib construction, Pisoni Pro pads with metal resonators, and blued steel springs for stable regulation and consistent response across the range. The defining differentiator in its class is the inclusion of a genuine Henri Selmer Paris-manufactured neck and a Selmer Paris mouthpiece made specifically for the advancing player. This instrument is presented in clear lacquer and includes the original case and accessories.
In use, the STS711 is built to feel secure under the hands and to speak cleanly from low register through altissimo with predictable intonation tendencies typical of modern Selmer-family designs. The post-to-rib construction supports a centered core with efficient projection, making it suitable for big band, concert band, pit work, and studio settings where clarity and stability matter. Pisoni Pro leather pads with metal resonators contribute to quick articulation and a focused attack, while blued steel springs help maintain crisp key action over time. The Selmer Paris neck provides a familiar resistance profile and helps the horn respond evenly through dynamic changes, from soft subtone work to full-volume section playing. Ideal for advanced students, serious doublers, and working players who want a professionally configured tenor with Selmer Paris neck and mouthpiece integration.
