This lightly used model is in excellent playing order and has been professionally serviced, set up, and play-tested. The silver plate shows scattered fine scratches and light handling scuffs, including small marks around the valve casings and bell flare. The valve-top felt edges show slight fraying, and the exterior of the case has a small white scuff. These are minor cosmetic observations and do not prevent this instrument from presenting as a well-kept professional trumpet.
Who the YTR-8335IIRS Xeno Bb Trumpet Is For
The YTR-8335IIRS is suited to professional players, advanced students, and educators who prefer the resistance and tonal stability associated with a heavyweight Bb trumpet. Its reverse tuning slide configuration offers a distinct response compared with the standard-slide YTR-8335II, while the medium-large bore supports versatility across orchestral, concert band, brass quintet, solo, and commercial settings.
Common Questions About the Yamaha YTR-8335IIRS
What does the reverse tuning slide change?
A reverse tuning slide places the leadpipe inside the upper tuning-slide tube, creating a different airflow path and resistance profile. Many experienced players associate this layout with a more immediate initial response, though the preferred feel remains personal.
How does the YTR-8335IIRS differ from the standard YTR-8335II?
The YTR-8335IIRS retains the heavyweight Xeno concept, medium-large bore, and yellow brass bell while using a reverse tuning slide. This gives players a choice between two response concepts within the same professional model family.
Where does this trumpet fit within Yamaha's lineup?
The YTR-8335IIRS belongs to Yamaha's professional Xeno series. It is designed for experienced players seeking a substantial, centered Bb trumpet rather than the lighter response associated with Yamaha's lightweight professional models.
