What’s on My Bench? Custom Bach Brass
Recently we got in a big bunch of custom Bach trumpets and trombones. Here’s a few highlights from the group.
The Soprano Trombone/ Slide Trumpet / Mini Trombone
Every now and again, we receive an item in at the shop that just completely stumps me. (HEY! I'm looking at YOU, soprano trombone!)
What’s on My Bench? A Bach Mt. Vernon Model 8 Trombone
Hey, Brass Fans! We’ve had lots and lots of cool horns in the shop lately, but here’s one you won’t see every day, and it’s in really nice shape. Serial number puts this one at 1955.
What’s on My Bench? Huge Shipments of New Instruments!
It’s been super busy here at the Igloo - we recently received the huge shipment you see in these photos from Conn-Selmer, and today we are awaiting four more pallets from Conn-Selmer and six from Yamaha!
What’s on My Bench? An Awesome Edwards Trombone
This is a very nice professional instrument, and the previous owner cared for it as it only had one small dent. It was, however, pretty full of calcification and had a few stuck parts due to not having a regular chem clean.
What's on My Bench? 76 Trombones! (ok, only 22)
Today I’m going through a shipment of 22 trombones. Most of them are Bach 42BO like the one you see here! This particular horn is like brand new aside from a small dent in the knuckle tubing I have repaired. Most of them are near perfect with tiny cosmetic flaws, and a few show light use.
What’s on My Bench? Conn 62H Trombone
Today’s awesome horn is a Conn 62H trombone, and it was a lot of fun to work on! Serial number dates this one at 1970, and it still has a lot of years of play time left in it.
What’s on My Bench? Bach Mt. Vernon Alto Trombone
Here’s a cool little horn I finished up today - a Bach Mt. Vernon Model 6 alto trombone! This alto trombone was a conversion done on a regular Model 6, and the tech did quite a nice job on it. Note the unusual tuning mechanism!
