Here’s a super cool find from an early Elkhart Bach cornet. You all know how I love old case candy, and this bunch was super fun and in great shape.

Check out this awesome stash of sheet music found in a Martin Committee trumpet that came in recently.

Ariel Mattioda was a saxophonist and a member of the American Federation for Musicians back in 1943. AFM is a union for professional musicians founded in 1896.

One of my favorite things to find in a case are vintage care guides and warranty cards, and a recent King 2B Silversonic I worked on came with both!

This find was a lot of fun. These are all medals from Illinois High School Association for band and vocal competitions, so it looks like the former owner did a lot of playing and singing in school. There was also some English Composition homework, vintage sheet music, and for some odd reason a giant hex wrench!

I bet you never knew Buffet sold valve oil, did you?? Well, it’s because they actually also made trumpets for a short time! I actually have one that I found recently, and before you ask - no, it is NOT for sale! They are rare enough that I thought you all might like to see it, though!

Today’s exciting find comes to you from the original case of a Getzen Severinson model trumpet that just came in. Copies of the Getzen Gazette always used to come with new horns - not sure if they still do or not, but I remember getting a copy with a Getzen Capri flugel I purchased in 1984! My copy featured the Chicago horns with their Getzen brass.
